Flower colors	The sepals and petals are cream greenish. The heart shaped lip is white and purplish at the base. As usual with white orchids, it is more fragrant during the night.
Number of flower for spike	The number of flowers are variable, at least three long lasting flowers arising from a short spike.
Flower size	It can reach 8cm.across but it varies a lot.
Preferred conditions	Although it prefers intermediate conditions, it can also be cultivated in hotter environments. This plant on the photography is cultivated in hot lowlands next to Rio de Janeiro. Due to the habits of growth, it does better in a suspended pot or on a raft. Water well during the growth period and reduce the water during the winter. Be careful not to shrivel the fleshy terete leaves and pseudobulbs however it is tolerate to stay humid for a long period.
Season of bloom	It can bloom at various times of the year.
Origin	It is distributed from the Mexico to Panama until Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Caribbean islands.

Colorido das flores	As pétalas e as sépalas são creme-esverdeadas e o labelo em forma de coração é branco e levemente púrpura na base. Como é bastante comum com as flores brancas, são bastante perfumadas durante à noite .
Número de flores por haste	Número bastante variável acima de 3 flores que surgem de uma haste curta. As flores são de longa duração.
Tamanho da flor	Pode atingir 8 cm de diâmetro mas seu tamanho varia muito.
Condições requeridas	Embora seja cultivada em clima temperado, pode ser perfeitamente cultivada em clima quente. A planta da fotografia é cultivada em clima quente, a nível do mar, em local próximo do Rio de Janeiro. Pode ser cultivada em vasos com fibra de xaxim ou em tocos de madeira. Gostam de muita luz. Deve ser bem regada no período de crescimento com redução de rega após este período mas sempre com cuidado para não provocar o enrugamento das folhas (roliças e carnosas) e dos pseudobulbos. Deve ser cultivado em substrato de drenagem rápida pois não toleram umidade muito prolongada.
Época da floração	Pode florescer em qualquer época do ano.
Origem	Sua distribuição vai do México, Panamá até a Colômbia, Venezuela, Peru e ilhas do Caraíbas.
