Flower colors
|
The color of the sepals and petals of the variety amaliae varies from light rose to lilac. The lip has the same color with yellow fauces. The mid-lob is strongly reddish veined.

Preferred conditions
|
It requires full light and good ventilation. Water well when growing but provide a distinct dry rest (from May to September, autumn and winter, in South hemisphere). It prefers to be cultivated mounted in slabs or rugous bark. It can be cultivated under intermediate to warm conditions.

It can flower from May to September.

Origin
|
This variety occurs in Brazil, state of Tocantins. However, Cattleya
nobilior type occurs in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso
do Sul, Pará, Tocantins and Brasilia DC. It has been also reported to
Paraguay. |
